Rick Andstrom

Co-Founder and Chief Training Officer

Rick is the co-founder of Mercury Human Performance. Under his leadership, Mercury Human Performance serves local law enforcement, military units, and civilians alike—cultivating a resilient community culture through the pursuit of mastery, mindfulness, and mission readiness.

A decorated Navy SEAL with 25 years of distinguished service, Rick possesses an innovative mindset and excels in managing challenging circumstances. He is adept at developing and elevating team members. His military career commenced in 1994, and he ascended to the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. Throughout his career, Rick participated in eight combat deployments, sharpening his expertise in intelligence operations, trauma medicine, and non-standard mobility.

During his tenure, Rick was deployed eight times, trained over 200 intelligence operators, and led or participated in over 50 combat missions. He played a crucial role in conducting over 100 sensitive intelligence operations across numerous countries. Remarkably, two of these operations significantly influenced U.S. foreign policy.

In his role as a Team Leader and Mentor for a U.S. State Department program, Rick led a small, decentralized Ukrainian intelligence service and special operations team. His leadership was instrumental in executing 30 insurgent-style direct action missions and reconnaissance operations, particularly notable due to the lack of conventional support.

Chris Wilson

Chris Wilson

Co-Founder and CEO

Chris is the co-founder and CEO of Mercury Human Performance. He started his career as an Army logistics officer, stationed in Germany during the mid-90s.

Following his time in service, Chris transitioned to civilian life by focusing on technology in the early days of the internet. He spent time in multiple startups and large companies, such as IBM, on his way to becoming a serial entrepreneur.

From business process consulting to digital marketing to Software as a Service, Chris has been involved in a wide range of specialties in a variety of industries. His interests turned to personal growth in 2015 when he helped open Integracao, USA, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school in South Austin.

In 2020, as the pandemic was in full swing, Chris noticed a gap in the availability of security resources for large rural landowners. He collaborated with retired US Army Special Forces soldiers to create Mercury Domestic Internal Defense, a security consultancy focused on bringing the Foreign Internal Defense (FID) capabilities of green berets to the civilian market.

Over the course of developing that business, Chris began working with Rick Andstrom, who introduced him to Conflict Kinetics. Mercury Human Performance emerged from that relationship and that connection.
